Luxembourg is a tiny country in Europe bordered by Belgium, France and Germany.
Even though small in size this country has wonderful people. a rich culture and beautiful places to visit.

1. Market at Place Guillaume
If you are in Luxembourg and looking for fresh vegetables for your meal or even flowers than go and visit this wonderful outdoor market.
Opened from Tuesday to Saturday, this market burst with colours and sound.
In the market you can find anything from fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and a lot of different items.
The palace was first constructed by Adam Roberti in 1572 and served as city's town hall.
In 1795 during the French administration of Luxembourg the palace serves as headquarters of the Department of Forest.
Later in 1871 the palace become home of the Governor, the representative of the Dutch Grand Dukes.
Only in 1890 the palace was used solely for the Grand Duke and his family.
During the Second World War, Germans turned the palace into a tavern and the collection of painting, oriental and Dutch china, Sèvres vases and Russian malachite vases were plundered but fortunately recovered later.
Palace interior has undergone through regular renovations to keep up with modern tastes and to make the palace a place of comfort.
These renovations had as purpose to build suites with bedroom, drawing room and bathroom and they would serve as house to foreign guests mostly during state visits.

3. Le Chermin De La Corniche
Batty Weber, a Luxembourg writer considers Le Chemine De La Corniche "the most beautiful balcony of Europe.
Built in the 17th century by the Spaniards and the French, this pedestrian walkway runs along the Alzette valley on the ramparts.
4. Vianden Castle
Build between the 11th and 14th century on the foundations of a roman Castle and Carolingian refuge, the Vianden Castle has the Hohenstaufen characteristics is among the largest and finest feudal residences of the roman and Gothic eras in Europe.
In 1820 the castle during the reign of King William I of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange-Nassau, Count of Vianden, was the castle was sold to a Vianden spice merchant who started to the furniture and ending up with the roof slates, the castle was exposed to the elements and fell into ruins.
The castle remained in the hands of the Grand Ducal family until 1977 when it was transferred into state ownership.
Vianden Castle has been restored its former glory and today ranks among the most significant historical monuments of Europe.

5. Gëlle Fra
"The Golden Lady" , in 1923 was set to to commemorate the Luxembourgers who fought in the First World War.
The memorial represents a gold-plated female figure on a stone obelisk.
The Nazis pulled the monument down on October 20th, 1940 and in 1984 through extensive restoration the monument got its original appearance.
Nowdays it's the symbol of freedom and resistance for the Luxembourg people.
